Machel Montano is a popular Soca artiste of Trinidad and Tobago, he is not only recognised locally but internationally as well. Soca music gives the people of Trinidad & Tobago a true sense of identity which is the initial intention of the creator of the Soca music genre Ras Shorty.
Amidst the drastic increase in Crimes in our once sweet Trinidad and Tobago, music continues to be one of the very few things that unify as regardless of race, gender, age or even religious or spiritual background. We were once an island that used our language and music to fight the injustice of the pre-civil rights era. In recent times Soca music is largely used in the entertainment industry and played for the Carnival Season in fetes, parties and parades.
Therefore, this website is created to educate prospective musicians, dj entertainers, visitors to the Caribbean as well as anyone who is interested, on the details of the Soca genre by the exploring the journey of the King of Soca.
